Roscommon
Lanesboro is a small town on the River Shannon at the northern end of Lough Ree, on the Roscommon–Longford county boundary. The town is closely connected with Ballyleague on the Longford side of the river and serves as a local centre for nearby communities including Ballagh, Kilteevan and Ballymurray. Its N39 routing key reflects its location on the N63 national road between Roscommon town and Longford.
Area character
