Galway
Menlo is a rural townland and village area on the northern edge of Galway city, in County Galway, close to the River Corrib and Menlo Castle. It lies between the city’s northern suburbs and the countryside towards Annaghdown, Corcullen and Cloonboo, while remaining within convenient reach of Galway city and its services. The area is particularly known for its historic castle and traditional rural setting.
Area character
Rural and semi-rural, quiet and community-oriented, with scattered homes, farmland and established country roads. Menlo offers countryside living close to Galway city, although local services within the village itself are limited and residents generally use nearby suburbs and the city for shopping, schools and leisure.
