Tivoli Neighbourhood Guide
Cork
About Tivoli
Tivoli is a small harbour-side district on the north side of Cork City, overlooking the River Lee between Silversprings and Blackrock, with Glanmire rising to the east. Traditionally associated with port activity and industry, the area today has a quiet, tucked-away feel, with a mix of older houses and newer developments set on elevated ground with views across the estuary. Living here means being close to the city centre while enjoying immediate access to waterfront walks and green space, including nearby Holland Park and the Blackrock Harbour area. Families typically look towards well-established schools in Blackrock, Mayfield and Glanmire, all within a short drive. For shopping and dining, residents use the amenities in Blackrock Village and Mahon, as well as the city centre, with neighbourhood cafés, pubs and everyday services close at hand. Commuting is straightforward via the Lower Glanmire Road and the N8, with the Jack Lynch Tunnel providing quick access to the south side and the wider road network. While Blackrock Station is a former railway stop rather than an active service, Kent Station in the city centre offers mainline rail connections across Ireland.
