Sligo
Carney is a small rural locality in north County Sligo, near the shoreline of Drumcliff Bay and within reach of Sligo town. It lies close to Drumcliff, with Lissadell, Rosses Point and Grange also nearby, and is identified by the F91 routing key. The area is well placed for access to the Sligo–Donegal road corridor and the scenic north Sligo coast.
Area character
Rural, scenic and dispersed, with farmland, coastal landscapes and views towards Benbulben. Carney is primarily residential and countryside-based rather than village-centred, with many everyday services accessed in nearby Drumcliff, Grange or Sligo town.
