Keeraun is a mainly residential locality on the western side of Galway city, close to Boleybeg, Knocknacarra, Rahoon and Tonabrocky. It sits within the wider suburban area served by Galway’s western transport and services network, with the city centre and Atlantic coastline within reach by road and public transport. The locality is largely made up of housing and surrounding green or semi-rural areas rather than a distinct village centre.
Area character
