However, far from the traditional vibe you might expect, the interiors are wonderfully modern. Rich wooden floors and an original iron fireplace might be the only historic features – funky trinkets, wicker chairs, and minimalist lampshades are among some of the 21st-century quirks. But our favourite part has to be the huge extension. White, glossy, and illuminated by a skylight as well as enormous bi-folding doors, this kitchen and dining area sets the tone for modern-day city elegance. From here it only gets better. Step outside to a private dining patio, surrounded by leafy greens. Or wander up the gravel path of the garden to reach a secluded patio where you can sip gin into the early hours.
